In case you’re curious, I don’t use LOL. I use “heh” for when something makes me smile, “hah” for when someone is being sarcastically funny and I smile, “haha” for when something is funny, and “hahaha” for when I actually laugh. Once you get to three HAs, everything after is a meter of just how much I’m actually laughing. I have written a few “hahahahahahaha” in my life, but it’s rare—you gotta really earn those.
