Title: Big BambúArtists: Mike & Doug StarnMedium: Installation Sculpture

In September 2008, the Starns took over the former Tallix Foundry in Beacon, New York (50 foot high ceilings by 320-foot long by 65 foot wide), and the construction of Big Bambú immediately started. As of November 15th, more than 2,000 bamboo poles have been assembled creating an extraordinary intricate mental and physical network system

Wetterling Gallery, of Sweden, filled their booth in Pier 92 with photographs, renderings, and videos of this massive installation sculpture, which is apparently open to visitors in upstate New York on Sundays.

The Starns, it turns out, were also responsible for a recent South Ferry subway station installation that I haven’t been to, but was covered extensively in the New York Times.
