Best of The Armory 2009

One of the hardest parts of The Armory to cope with is the sheer size of the show. I only had three hours on a Thursday to jog through snapping photos for reference. At such a fast pace, the pieces that I noticed enough to stop for were all too often the ones with flashing lights, neon colors, and glitter. It’s almost like driving on a highway.
What drew me to this was “Oooh all the pretty colors!!” but Finch’s intense title suggests that there’s more to this than bright lights. I haven’t had time to read up on him, but his website has some really smart and beautiful looking installations.
